What can I do?

Here are some ways you can make a difference:

• Set an example for others by not littering.
• Carry a litterbag in your car.
• Make sure trash cans have secure lids and don�t overflow your refuse container.
• Tie papers in a bundle or place in a brown bag before placing them in a curbside recycling bin.
• If you own a business, check dumpsters daily to see that top side doors are closed .
• Cover open loads on all trucks.
• Encourage your family, civic group, sports group, or other organization to "adopt" a spot or street.
• Report areas where people have illegally dumped garbage and debris.
• Participate in the Great American Cleanup and Clean the Bay Day.
